About Colin Sjostedt

I first became interested in photography when I borrowed my mom's old Nikon camera in 1986 and started shooting whatever caught my eye. I am drawn to color, shape, small details. I cover all my work with epoxy resin to preserve it and give it a glossy look. I believe it is the artists job to challenge the observer to take the time to really see the work in this swipe left world.

Artist Statement

All the time in the world to make art but nowhere to show it. This is the paradox facing artists in isolation. I have been a member of City Art Gallery on Valencia street since 2003 and was scheduled to show new work this month. I will continue to create and hope to be able to exhibit soon because seeing art on the wall is always better than the screen.
