About Abigail Lee Goldberger

I am inspired by dreams and stories so my images tend to be fantastical and myth-like. I also like to explore skewed angles, odd placements of characters within the landscape and a landscape itself that has a personality and defies what we know of the ways in a which a world is supposed to work. These influences and elements come together and a painting is finished once I find that I have created a harmony of images, colors, textures, personalities and emotions that feels like a glimpse into another world.

Externally my situation has changed, I have had a few shows cancelled and have had to postpone the publishing/debut of an art story book that I have been working on. Internally, I have found it freeing to be removed from the reality of deadlines etc. I have been exploring mediums I don't normally work with and finding myself inspired to create more intricate projects and think about different ways to engage with the world as an artist.
